From smartphones to washing machines, they power the technology we rely on daily. Much like quantum systems, semiconductors are highly sensitive &#8211; observing a quantum state can destroy its superposition, and semiconductor manufacturing likewise requires ultra-clean environments where even tiny particles can disrupt production.<br><br>After several weeks of theory in the Tandem Mentoring Program, our participants have now taken their first step into the practical world of quantum technology.<br><br>During the hands-on phase, the group had the chance to visit BOSCH in Dresden and receive an inspiring introduction to semiconductors &#8211; their applications, chip design and manufacturing processes, and their role as fundamental building blocks of modern technology. Participants also explored the three main chip types and their diverse functions. A guided tour through the cleanroom facilities provided rare insights into real semiconductor production, vividly connecting quantum concepts with industrial reality.<br><br>This excursion marked an
