Prof. Holger Boche holds the Chair of Theoretical Information Technology at the Technical University of Munich. His pioneering research operates at the intersection of wireless network theory and applied mathematics, with a particular focus on probability theory, optimization theory, game theory, and quantum information theory. Within the wider research ecosystem, he notably served as a co-coordinator for the BMFTR-funded 6G-life research hub alongside colleagues from Dresden University of Technology and Technical University of Munich.

Within the QUARKS project he serves as a Principal Investigator, bringing his deep expertise in mathematical and quantum information theory to advance the project’s foundational goals.

Professor Boche has established a distinguished academic career in Germany. Born in 1966, he studied information technology and mathematics at the Dresden University of Technology, where he also earned his doctorate in engineering. He later completed a second doctorate in mathematics at the Technical University of Berlin. In 2002, he accepted a professorship at the Technical University of Berlin, during which time he also served as the head of the Mobile Broadband Communications Department at the Heinrich Hertz Institute and director of the German-Sino Lab for Mobile Communications.

Since 2010, Professor Boche has been leading his current chair at the Technical University of Munich. His outstanding contributions to science and engineering are reflected in his election to several of the nation’s most prestigious scientific societies, including the German Academy of Engineering Sciences, the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and the National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.
