Science integrated in education

QUARKS combines research and teaching and at the same time gives students an insight into the practical applications of quantum physics and quantum communication. Whether as an introduction or as a supplement – these modules are an opportunity to convey the subject of quantum communication in a lively and understandable way. We provide the necessary technical equipment!

News for Schools

Connecting academic research with vocational education is vital for the future of the scientific community. Recently, we had the fantastic opportunity to participate in the Tag der Wissenschaften (Science Day) at BSZ Meißen—an event dedicated to providing trainees with deeper insights into current scientific advancements.

We conducted two sessions of our specialized workshop, engaging with a total of 48 future laboratory assistants training in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Practical Insights into Quantum Technologies

Given the students’ technical backgrounds, our goal was to bridge the gap between abstract quantum mechanics and practical laboratory application. During the workshops, we utilized three of our core tools to bring these concepts to life:

  • The Entanglement Boxes: Our hands-on setup specifically designed to explain the principles of superposition and quantum entanglement in an intuitive, visual way.
  • The Random Demo: An interactive challenge where students “compete” against a quantum computer by entering sequences of 0s and 1s, testing true quantum randomness against human patterns.
  • Quantum Hardware Visuals: High-resolution images of actual quantum computers to discuss the current state of engineering and technology.

The interdisciplinary background of the participants led to highly engaging discussions, highlighting exactly how quantum technologies will intersect with various laboratory sciences in the future.

A huge thank you to BSZ Meißen for the invitation and wonderful organization, and to all the students for their focused participation and insightful questions!

Education meets science

And your class is part of it

It is important to us not only to impart education, but also to develop it further. That is why we accompany our modules with a short scientific survey: within 90 minutes, we record how the module influences your students’ motivation, interest and career orientation. This study has been approved by the Saxon State Ministry of Culture (SMK).
Participation in the survey is, of course, voluntary – the module can also be carried out independently of it.

The modules cover the basics of quantum physics, innovative technologies such as quantum computers and various communication models. They can be flexibly adapted to different school types, class levels and learning areas. Even if the topic is not directly included in the learning area, the modules can also be offered in computer science lessons on information security, for example.

QUARKS unites theoretical research, practical implementation, and education—distinct charges that, only together, create stable and lasting quantum communication networks.
