The ComNets group at Technische Universität Dresden participated as the Dresden node in the Pan-European Quantum Internet Hackathon 2025, an initiative coordinated by the Quantum Internet Alliance (QIA) to accelerate the development of quantum network technologies on a European scale.
During the hackathon, teams from Amsterdam, Paris, Poznań, Santiago de Compostela, and Dresden collaborated on the implementation and evaluation of advanced protocols for Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and the use of quantum repeaters based on modular architectures.
Dresden’s contribution focused on modeling and simulating these protocols using the SquidASM platform, with the aim of analyzing performance, scalability, and interoperability requirements in future distributed quantum networks.
